You know what makes me happy, Jeff? Is that in the midst of all this Quebec election fandango, you'd take the time to comment on my WW observation... I can't quite tell you how much that means to me...
season 7 is kind of good... what are the other good ones... 1 is ok - but they are trying to find their footing - and there is that annoying consultant woman... but I was trying to decide which other season to buy the other day... but other than 2 and 7 (which I like cause there is all that campaign stuff) what else is there?
It was all bad after Sorkin left, with few exceptions. I never found Santos to be anywhere near as well-developed as Bartlet; in fact, I liked Vinick alot more by the time the election rolled around to wrap up the series. Plus the whole character of the show changed.
I would have loved to see more of President Walken. "You're relieved, Mr. President." Awesome.
Truth be told I only watched snippets of Quebec election coverage in between watching old episodes of 24 on my PVR. 24 is my new, post WW addiction. I can only take so much inane election media panel banter.
Season one was good but as you sy they were still finding their stride. Season three on were ok, but Sorkin seemed to loose his mojo. And the Wells era was a horrible WW/ER hybrid, although the final season wasn't half bad.
The pinnacle though, without a doubt, was season two. So many classic episodes, great writing. Sorkin at his peak.
I had such hopes for Studio 60, but it has been rather lame. Preachy works when you're setting national policy, but not when you're running a sketch comedy show.
Post election, post regime change, and hence job loss; here I am, a Canadian political refugee in DC. All ready to exchange my Hill Times for The Hill and my Liberal red for Democrat blue.

None of them were as season two.
